New Tales of the Great Wall

here was a Lee family, Mr. and Mrs. Lee, a son and a daughter. They were David and Kelly.
Mr. Lee was muscular. He had short hair and a round face. Mrs. Lee was attractive. She had
wavy hair and starry eyes. David was eight years old. He was bulky but humorous. He had a
chubby face and two buck teeth like a little rabbit. Kelly was nine years old. She was clever
and courteous. She was slim too. She had a fringe and a pony tail. She also had pretty dimples.
One day, David saw some website about the Great Wall of China on the Internet. He also saw a
sentence “If not been on the Great Wall, not a great man.” He begged his father to take him to the Great
Wall, but Dad said, “It is so expensive.”

Please, Dad, I haven’t travelled anywhere for nine years.” Said Kelly sadly, “You are right. We
have not travelled anywhere for a long time, said Mum.
But Dad still wouldn’t take them to the Great Wall. They were disappointed.
However, after a few days, Dad came home, singing happily, and said cheerfully “We can go to the
Great Wall now. I won four tickets to Beijing in the lucky draw at the Christmas party. We can have a
free trip in the New Year Holiday!”
“
Hurray! Hurray!” shouted everyone. They were surprised and all clapped their hands.
One month later, they packed their suitcases.
When they arrived at Beijing, they were so excited. Their hotel room bed was so big. David and
Kelly jumped crazily on it. Suddenly, Kelly wanted to go to toilet. She discovered that the toilet was
interesting. She played on it. After some time, Mum and Dad called them that they needed to get ready
to go to the Great Wall. They washed their faces and got into car. There were a lot of visitors at the
Great Wall. Suddenly, a man pushed David and Kelly and they fell over and hit their heads.
When they woke up, they saw something strange had happened. They couldn’t believe what they
saw; people in the old clothes were building the Great Wall. They asked the people, “When is it?”
The people giggled, “It is the Ming Dynasty. Why do you ask this silly question!”

Really? Are you making a movie?”
“
Why are we back in the Ming Dynasty? Are you telling us jokes?”
David and Kelly shouted at them. They really couldn’t believe it.
But the people said, “Why do we need to tell you lies? Help us to build the wall! Quick! Quick!”
Although the children didn’t want to build it, they still built the Great Wall. While they were
building the Great Wall, they began to help the people. While they were building the Great Wall, they
learnt that it was mainly made of bricks. There were also tiles, lime and stones. However, soon David
and Kelly were careless. While they were chatting happily, they bumped their head careless, and fell in
a faint. When they opened their eyes, they were back in modern time. But David and Kelly were lost.
They had to find the road back to the hotel.
When they reached the hotel, they asked the staff which room they were in. The staff gave some
keys to David and Kelly so they could go back to their rooms. David and Kelly’s parents just had
finished the buffet breakfast when they saw David and Kelly. Their parents remembered that they had
missed them on the Great Wall. The whole family were very happy to be together again. They all enjoy
the journey very much even the children’s trip back in time!
